WB Resale: what it is, how it works and how to sell

Article 3 of 8 in the topic {hub}. All articles in the topic

WB Resale is a section of the Wildberries app where an ordinary customer sells their items to other customers. You don't need to be a sole proprietor (IP), register as self-employed, or open a seller portal account. A verified account, a WB Wallet, and Gosuslugi are enough. The WB offer agreement doesn't provide for any seller commission: the buyer pays for delivery. After an order comes in, you have 4 days to drop the item off at a pickup point, and the money arrives only after the customer picks it up and confirms receipt. The path in the app is short: "Services" → "Resale" → "My listings" → "Post a listing," then photos, description and price.

"WB Resale" is searched almost 34,000 times a month, and most breakdowns in the search results just repeat each other. Some write about a zero commission, others about 3–15%. We went to the primary source: the offer agreement on posting listings, in the version dated 26 July 2026. It contains three things that the popular breakdowns miss: paid promotion for listings, a rule about claims after receipt, and a delivery rating that can get a seller's sales shut off.

One disclaimer up front: we're not a resale seller or an intermediary, Parus Seller works with stores on Wildberries. This article is for anyone who wants to sell an item as a one-off, and for anyone wondering whether it's time to move from resale into becoming a real seller.

What is Wildberries resale and how it works

Resale appeared on Wildberries in 2025 as a marketplace for private listings inside the regular app. Legally it's a separate offer agreement: WB lets a user post a listing, accepts payment through the WB Bank transfer service, and delivers the item between pickup points. The seller and the buyer strike a deal with each other, WB is an intermediary for the technical and logistics side of it.

You can build a listing from scratch or pull in the details of a product you once bought on Wildberries itself: the name, category and description carry over from the old order. An item bought on WB is a convenience, not a requirement: the offer agreement allows selling other things too, as long as they fit the allowed categories and aren't on the ban list.

What people search about Wildberries resale: the 10 most common queries from a month of Wordstat data

Demand shows clearly where people get stuck. The strongest searches are about how to sell and how the whole thing works, followed by delivery, returns and commission. This article is built around exactly those questions.

How to sell an item on WB Resale: step by step

  1. Open the Wildberries app, tap the icon with three lines at the bottom, this is the "Services" menu.
  2. Select "Resale," tap "My listings" at the top of the page, then "Post a listing."
  3. Activate WB Wallet if you haven't already: the money for a sold item will land there.
  4. Connect Gosuslugi, this is needed for a secure deal.
  5. Choose where you bought the item. If it was on Wildberries, mark it in your purchase list, and the attributes will fill in automatically. If it was somewhere else, fill in the card by hand.
  6. Add photos in daylight, shoot any defects up close. Write an honest description: false information in a listing gives WB grounds to partially suspend the seller.
  7. Set a price. If you turn on "Buyers can offer a price," you'll get counteroffers, and the item will sell faster.

The contract with WB is concluded the moment you publish the listing, you don't need to sign anything separately. There's no private chat with the buyer, questions are asked in the comments under the listing, and you need to answer them politely too: the offer agreement directly names two cases of insults in replies as grounds for suspension.

How to send an item for WB Resale through a pickup point

Once the item sells, you have 4 days to bring it to a pickup point from the list the app offers. The seller does the packing: a box or bag, with fragile items wrapped in film or cardboard. You don't need to seal it shut, the pickup point's staff will inspect the item. The packaging must carry the QR code the app generates for that order: without it, or without suitable packaging, the pickup point can refuse to accept it.

The journey of an item on WB Resale: from order to money in the wallet, and what happens on a refusal

If you miss the 4 day window, the deal is cancelled and the money goes back to the customer, and one more undelivered order shows up in your delivery rating. More on the rating below, it's the most underrated rule of resale.

WB resale delivery: who pays and how much

The customer pays for delivery. Its price depends on the order's parameters and is shown to the customer before checkout, the seller pays nothing for delivery. This is exactly where WB earns money on delivery: the offer agreement calls it a fee for delivery services, VAT already included.

Listing promotionseller, optionalfixed price per category and period
Delivery on customer refusal at the pickup pointcustomernot refunded

The last row matters for the customer: if they refused the item on inspection, the money for the item itself will be refunded, but not the delivery.

Let's walk through an example. You're selling a jacket for 3,000 ₽. The customer pays 3,000 ₽ for the jacket and delivery separately, the app shows them the delivery amount before checkout. Once they pick up the order and confirm receipt, the full 3,000 ₽ lands in your WB Wallet: no commission, and delivery is none of your concern. If instead the customer opens the package at the pickup point and refuses it, they get their 3,000 ₽ back within 10 days, the delivery money is gone, and the jacket goes back to you. You lose nothing but time, but you need to collect the jacket from the pickup point in time, or WB will dispose of it.

You can also buy a resale item on the website, in the catalogue at wildberries.ru/catalog/resale. Posting a listing, according to Sovcombank media's breakdown, is only possible in the app: the "Resale" section is in the "Services" menu.

What is the commission on WB resale

There's no commission on the sale in the offer agreement. The seller gets exactly the amount they sold the item for, and WB charges the customer for delivery. Sovcombank's media journalists checked this by hand: they listed items in different categories and saw no commission. The "3 to 15%" figures that circulate in some breakdowns are taken from the store rates and have nothing to do with resale.

There is a paid service, though, and popular breakdowns don't mention it yet: "Listing promotion." It moves the listing up in search results for a chosen period. The price is fixed and depends on the category and period, the receipt arrives in the seller's account. WB doesn't guarantee the number of impressions: it depends on other sellers and customer behaviour. For an item worth a couple thousand rubles, paid promotion rarely pays off, it's simpler to set a fair price.

When you get paid for a sold item

The bank reserves the customer's money when the order is placed, and since July 2026 the customer can also pay on pickup. You get paid only after the customer collects the item from the pickup point and confirms receipt. The money lands in the WB Wallet, and from there you can spend it or withdraw it to a card.

If the customer doesn't collect the item within the storage period, that counts as a refusal. The customer gets their money back within 10 calendar days, and the item goes back to you.

Returning items on WB Resale: refusal at the pickup point and claims after receipt

The customer inspects the item at the pickup point in front of the staff member. If it doesn't match the description or has defects, they can refuse it right there. The item goes back to the pickup point it was sent from, and it must be collected within the timeframe shown in the app. If it isn't collected, WB disposes of it: the offer agreement calls this an instruction from the seller.

If the customer has collected the item, the offer agreement treats this as acceptance in proper condition. Any claims after that go to the seller through the app, and the two sides settle them without WB involved. There's one exception: if WB itself lost, damaged or swapped the item, the customer gets a full refund, and an internal investigation confirms the fault.

This gives the seller a simple rule: anything that could become grounds for a dispute needs to be in the description and in the photos. Wear that's visible in the photo isn't grounds for refusal.

What you can't sell on WB resale: dimensions and bans

Resale only accepts items that fit into a pickup point and into the offer agreement's bans. Based on breakdowns by T-Zh and Sovcombank media (updated 3 September 2026), these restrictions apply:

RestrictionWhat it means
Dimensionsno more than 60 × 40 × 40 cm
Weightup to 5 kg
Categoriesno electronics, jewellery, medicines, food, plants, alcohol or 18+ products

Source: the WB offer agreement on listing items, Appendix No. 1 (26 July 2026); breakdowns by T-Zh and Sovcombank media

Phones fall under the electronics ban: there's no category for them in the appendix, and readers of T-Zh who tried confirm this. If there's no matching category, the item can't be sold on resale, however you describe it.

Why Wildberries resale accounts get blocked: 50% delivery rating

The offer agreement lists four grounds for partial seller blocking: false description, missing documents, two or more cases of abuse in replies, and a delivery rating below 50%. The first three are clear enough. The fourth one catches you off guard.

The delivery rating is calculated every day as the share of delivered orders among all orders received over the last 365 days. For a private seller with a dozen sales a year, every failed order costs 10 percentage points at once.

Delivery rating on Wildberries resale with 10 orders a year: six failed shipments push it below the 50% blocking threshold

You sold an item, changed your mind, didn't bring it to the pickup point within 4 days: minus one order. A customer ordered three items, you found only one: minus two. The formula's window is long, a full year, so spring's mistakes drag on until the following spring. The best protection is simple: take the listing down as soon as the item is no longer available.

Do you need to pay tax on WB Resale sales

Selling your own items is subject to 13% personal income tax, but in most cases you won't have to pay anything. If you've owned the item for three years or longer, income from its sale isn't taxed at all. If it's less than that, you can reduce the taxable income by a deduction of up to 250,000 ₽ a year, or by the confirmed purchase price.

Items from Wildberries are convenient because the purchase price is already in your order history, so you won't need to hunt for a receipt.

For clothes, shoes, books and small items from past orders, resale is more convenient: the listing is built from an old purchase, there's no commission, and the pickup point is nearby. For big, expensive items and anything the buyer wants to check in person before paying, Avito remains the safer choice.

When it's time to move from resale to selling on WB

Resale is meant for personal items. If you've started buying up stock to resell, that's already a business: the tax breaks for personal property don't apply, and your volumes will run into resale's size and category limits. The next step is registering as a sole proprietor (IP) and opening a seller portal account on Wildberries, with inbound supplies to a warehouse and your own product cards. Self-employed status won't do here: law 422-FZ bars the self-employed from reselling purchased goods, it only fits items you make yourself.

We covered where to start using WB's latest instructions: how to sell your own product on WB from scratch and how a self-employed person can work on Wildberries. Once your store is up and running, Parus Seller will show you stock, ads and net profit for every product card. Promo code PARUS60 gives you two months of full access, no card required.

FAQ about WB Resale

Can I sell an item on WB Resale that I didn't buy on Wildberries? Yes. Carrying over attributes from the old order is a convenience, not a requirement: the offer agreement allows you to sell any item as long as there's a category for it and it isn't on the banned list.

How long do I wait for the money? The money is transferred after the customer has picked up the item and confirmed receipt. The timeline adds up your 4 days to hand it over, delivery time, and however long it takes the customer to reach the pickup point.

Can I return an item bought on WB Resale? You can refuse it on inspection at the pickup point, and you'll get the money for the item back within 10 days, but not the delivery cost. After you've received the item, any claims are settled directly with the seller.

What happens if I don't bring the item to the pickup point within 4 days? The order is cancelled, and your delivery rating drops. If your rating falls below 50% over the last 365 days, WB partially suspends the seller.
